Dr. Bruce V. Wainright was born in New Jersey in 1946. His father, Henry V. Wainright moved his family from New Jersey to Point Pleasant West Virginia where Bruce completed high school at Kyger Creek in 1964. In school, Dr. Wainright became interested in baseball, basketball, water-sports and golf. Dr. Wainright completed his undergraduate and professional training at West Virginia University in 1972 achieving the degrees of Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in 1968, and Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 1972.

In 1976 Dr. Wainright started one of the very first dental practices located in north Raleigh at Falls Village Shopping Center. In 1984 he built Wainright Centre, a professional office complex on the corner of Falls of Neuse and Newton Rd., where he maintains his private dental practice. With the additions and renovations to this contemporary dental office, his practice now has a multitude of amenities for patients including a coffee bar, private surgical operatories, and HD television in the waiting area and treatment rooms.

Throughout his professional career Dr. Bruce has been involved in the most cutting-edge research and technology in dentistry. Dr. Wainright was one of the first dentists in the southeast to offer laser-whitening to his patients in the 1980s using the Brite-Smile system. In 1998, after many years of continuing education and excellence in dentistry, Dr. Wainright received his Masters in the Academy of General Dentistry (M.A.G.D.) from the Medical College of Virginia (MCV), attaining what is considered one of the most prestigious post-graduate degrees in general dentistry.

Through numerous opportunities with associates in dentistry, and a dedication to patient care, Dr. Wainright’s dental practice has grown tremendously since 1976. With the introduction of Dr. Mark Wainright and Dr. Matt Wassel as partners to the business, Dr. Wainright has more time off, and confidence that his long-time patients experience the finest oral health experiences.

Dr. Wainright is the proud father of four children, Mark, Leslie, Michael, and Mary-Allison. He is an avid golfer and most enjoys playing at The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards and at North Ridge Country Club. Dr. Wainright is a second generation West Virginia University dentist and is lucky enough to be able to practice with both his father, and his best friend in north Raleigh. A native of north Raleigh, Dr. Mark Wainright attended Millbrook High School. He received a bachelor of science from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1998. Dr. Wainright spent time after his undergraduate degree overseas, which included a sailing trip westward across the Atlantic Ocean in a 40-foot sailboat.
