Kimberly Gilbert, D.A.II

Kimberly Gilbert is originally a native of West ‘by God’ Virginia, but after 20 plus years in Raleigh, she now calls North Carolina home. Kim has been with the practice longer than anyone except Dr. Bruce Wainright, and in the last twenty years or so, Kim has achieved a complete understanding of office procedures, and has maintained an easygoing, funny, and happy-go-lucky attitude all the while. Kim is an invaluable asset to Wainright and Wassel DDS because of her patient knowledge and patient relationships. She also has extensive training in CEREC 2 and 3D, Invisalign, CPR, and is the official OSHA and radiation officer for the practice. Kim is a lifetime member of the American Dental Assistants’ Association. Kim is the mother of a wonderful daughter, Sydney. In her spare time, Kim spends her time cooking wonderful Vietnamese meals, bicycling, skydiving, rock-climbing, and traveling.
Debra Harms, C.D.A.

Debra is a native North Carolinian from Oxford, N.C, and a graduate of J.F.Webb High School. Debra brings a wealth of experience in oral health to the practice having been certified in dental assisting for 26 years. After 2 years in school at Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C., she graduated from the dental assisting program at UNC Chapel Hill. Debra is a former Vice President of the Wake County Dental Assistants Society, and a former member of the Durham/Orange County Dental Assistants Society. Currently, she is a member of the American Dental Assistants Association. Debra has been married 14 years to her wonderful husband, Royce, who takes her traveling all over the United States – their most recent adventure to the Grand Canyon. When she isn’t busy volunteering for Meals on Wheels or singing in the church choir, she will be riding on the back of a motorcycle with Royce!
Karen McKinnon-Sutton, C.D.A.

Karen made her way to North Carolina in 1977 from Plainfield New Jersey. Karen was a marketing major at NCA&T in 1987 and subsequently acquired training at Wake Technical College for dental assisting. Her efforts in patient care were acknowledged with a Team Player Award in 1998 and she obtained further training in Lumineers, Invisalign, and Zoom whitening. Karen is a lifetime member of the American Dental Assistants’ Association. Karen is an invaluable asset to the Wainright and Wassel team because of her sincerely empathetic nature and comforting tone. Karen has a way of easing the spirit and making people comfortable, which is no easy task for anxious patients! Karen is the mother of two wonderful children, and she enjoys taking care of her multitude of houseplants, which her family refers to as The Jungle. Karen also has a profound love for animals, particularly cats, and she spends her spare time reading romance novels, cutting hair, skating, and practicing amateur photography.
Rhonda Holt, C.D.A.

Rhonda Holt is a career dental treatment coordinator with over sixteen years of experience in her field. Prior to dentistry Rhonda was a licensed optician holding degrees from Durham Technical College and Wake Technical Community College. In 2005 Rhonda graduated the dental assisting program from the Las Vegas Institute for continuing dental excellence. A native of the North Carolina piedmont area, Rhonda has completed training in CEREC 1, 2 and 3D, is trained in CPR, and is certified as an Invisalign coordinator. Because of her extensive experience and knowledge of dental materials and procedures, Rhonda has a lot of mechanical and engineering know-how when it comes to fixing teeth. Rhonda is also a lifetime member of the American Dental Assistants’ Association. In her free time Rhonda enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. On the weekends you can find Rhonda and her family playing sports like baseball, football, waterskiing, and snow skiing.
Janise Carter, D.A.II

Janise, affectionately known around the office as Jo-neice or Janiqua, moved to Raleigh by way of Pleasant Grove, Utah. Janise left behind a family of five siblings, and she brings with her a wealth of enthusiasm and an extraordinarily positive attitude. Janise’s professional experience in dentistry started out west at Snow College, and eventually at the Renaissance Dental Institute where she completed training to D.A.I. Since that time, Janise has expanded her knowledge to coronal polishing, and has become a very valuable team member as a patient coordinator. Janise is a member of the American Dental Assistants’ Association. In her spare time, if she isn’t taking care of her plants, Joe Jr., Helga, Hector, and Gabrilla, you will find her memorizing corny jokes from the wrappers of Laffy Taffy.
