Billing
Our administrative staff is a trained team of patient service representatives. Please feel free to ask any member of our administrative staff for clarification on services and billing. If you are unclear as to whether a particular procedure is covered by your carrier, our staff is happy to submit a pre-estimate for treatment before scheduling your appointment.
We expect payment at the time that services are rendered for your portion of the total expense of treatment. If a procedure is estimated to be covered at 80%, we will collect 20% of the total cost upon checking out.
Dental Insurance
Dental insurance is very different from medical insurance and we know it can be confusing. Regardless of your plan, all dental insurance plans share the same intent:
To help patients pay for a portion of the total cost of their dental care.
The American Dental Association (ADA) has provided answers for many of these frequently asked questions, as well as general description of how dental insurance works. To better understand dental insurance through the
It is our obligation to provide our patients with the highest quality of dental care. Although your dental coverage may assist you in paying for your dental care, it should not determine your choice of treatment, nor limit your options for optimal oral health care. Treatment decisions must be made by you and your dentist.
Frequently dentists will ask that you take care of your entire bill and be reimbursed by the insurance company. This is because misunderstandings about dental insurance can undermine the tradition of trust between the patient and dentist.
As a courtesy to you, our patient service coordinators will file your dental claims for you and will only ask you to cover your co-payments and your estimated portion. To make your dental visits as comfortable and stress free as possible, we ask that you familiarize yourself with your dental plan booklet and refer to your plan sponsor for any concerns so that we may best serve you.
Preferred Providers (PPO)
We are Preferred Providers (PPO) with the following dental insurance companies:
If your carrier is not on this list, it does not mean that you will not receive dental benefits through your insurance carrier. Under most contracts, patients are given a financial incentive to go to certain “contracted dentists” but still receive dental benefit, regardless of the treating dentist. Other plans, such as DMO’s and capitation programs do not provide any benefit for “non-participating” dentists. In these instances, patients should be given the choice each year to choose a plan that does not restrict their choice of dental care.
